Environmental noise has a detrimental impact on health in the numerous ways.

STADIP SILENCE has the ability to minimise or eliminate these negative physical and psychological effects:

  • Difficulties concentrating and sleeping
  • Raised blood pressure
  • Cardiovascular complaints
  • Nervous disorders
  • Depression
  • Increased blood pressure and heart rate
  • No reduction in visual quality – utilises an acoustic interlayer that is invisible to the naked eye.
  • Filters >99% of UV light so eliminates the bleaching effect of the sun.

STADIP SILENCE can be combined with many other glass products, providing a multitude of high performance, multi-functional glazing options, including:

  • Solar control glazing (e.g.  COOL-LITE or  ANTELIO)
  • Thermal insulation (e.g.  PLANITHERM)
  • Safety and security (e.g.  STADIP /  STADIP PROTECT/  SECURIT)
  • Fire resistant glazing (e.g.  PYROSWISS /  CONTRAFLAM)
  • Self-cleaning glazing (e.g.  BIOCLEAN)
  • Obscured and/or decorative glazing (e.g.  MASTERGLASS / Traditional Patterned glass)

SAFETY AND SECURITY: STADIP SILENCE achieves similar levels of safety and security as glasses from the STADIP and STADIP PROTECT ranges:

  • Protection against the risk of injury, using 0.38 mm acoustic PVB film
  • In overhead glazing, in guarding and the protection of property, using 0.76 mm acoustic PVB film
  • Protection of property against vandalism and deterring potential intruders with a 0.76 mm acoustic PVB film combined with conventional PVB interlayers

STADIP SILENCE also provides good protection against ultra-violet radiation, by eliminating up to 99% between 320 and 380 nanometres.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC PERFORMANCE: The factors and coefficients relating to the transmittance, reflectance and absorbtion of light and energy are determined by the nature of the base glasses used in the laminated assembly.

THERMAL PERFORMANCE: The U-value of STADIP SILENCE is the same as for monolithic glass of the same thickness.

STADIP SILENCE is a modern noise control glazing that reliably keeps intrusive noise out, providing the tranquility essential for working, living and enabling relaxing sleep. STADIP SILENCE acoustic laminated glass contains a film interlayer that has a special dampening viscoplastic core helping to reduce the transmission of sound. STADIP SILENCE suppresses the intrusion of sound waves around the critical frequency of the glass, be it a single pane or a double glazed unit. In a double glazed unit,  STADIP SILENCE achieves an airborne sound insulation index value of up to 54dB.Benefits: ACOUSTIC, SAFETY AND SECURITYProperties: Acoustic PVB laminated safety glass glass with advanced safety & security properties and excellent neutrality

Applications

STADIP SILENCE can be used single-glazed - in acoustic insulating partitions, for example.

In double-glazed form, it is beneficial in numerous applications:

  • glazed facades on commercial or residential buildings located in noisy areas (close to main roads, motorways, railway stations, airports, etc.) and where there is a risk of vandalism;
  • overhead glazing and roof lights (protection against ouside noise, falling objects and impact noise such as rain).

Product range

STADIP SILENCE is available in:

  • Sizes: Jumbo (PLF) 6000 x 3210 mm;
  • Split dimensions: available on request
  • Substrates: PLANICLEAR, DIAMANT, COOL-LITE, PLANISTAR, PLANITHERM
  • Thicknesses: 4, 6, and 8 (10mm on demand)

Performances

Using a PVB Silence interlayer, either a 0.38 mm or a 0.76 mm thick, has the effect of eliminating the fall in acoustic insulation performance at the critical frequency of the glass, in both single and double glazing. This is attributed to the enhanced sound dampening properties of the PVB Silence film.

Its acoustic performance is thus identical to that of acoustic cast resin.

Its optical and safety performance is far superior however, equalling that of glasses in the STADIP range.

STADIP SILENCE complies the requirements of C class, according SR EN 1096-1 and 1096-2.

CE marking: Complies with all the EU applicable guidelines and standards during the manufacturing process and therefore consistently offers products of excellent quality. Obtain the CE marking here.
